Elle débute comme danseuse, puis à la scène, à Lyon, dans "La Divorcée" de Léo Fall. C'est là qu'elle rencontre Maurice Yvain qui l'épousera, et dont elle créera 5 pièces. Dès la fin des années 30, sa voix la pousse vers l'opéra-comique, où elle fera l'essentiel de sa carrière après la guerre (sans compter une participation active à la Radio-Lyrique)
